Product Spotlight: Vitamin D

As we head deeper into Fall, there are lovely things in the area to be grateful for - warm apple cider, crisp mornings and evenings, fire pits, and the holiday season. The comforts and coziness of the season are upon us!

But what isn't lovely are some of the more drab bits to the season - it will eventually get colder. The roads will be wet, slippery, and salty. And of course, there will be less sunlight.

Ah, we already notice that the sun is disappearing faster and faster every day. Many of us are affected by this, especially with seasonally low Vitamin D levels. Many of your physicians or even if you're a physician yourself know that Vitamin D levels affect many biological functions, from mood to metabolism to bone and tissue health.

If you know that you're deficient or low on vitamin D, now is a great time to consider supplementation. I know personally that as I have aged, I produce less vitamin D than I used to even during the light filled months of the summer. And now that I do supplement vitamin D everyday (as recommended by my physician), I notice small but profound changes to my mood and my daily function.

Discuss your Vitamin D levels with your physician and whether it's right for you. If you do find out or already know that Vitamin D supplementation would be good for you, consider Thorne's Vitamin D-1000 or D-5000 (depending on what dosage is right for you). Vitamin D3 is more well absorbed than other forms, and Thorne's Vitamin D is formulated with NO lactose, NO preservatives, and Thorne's D-5000 is NSF Certified for Sport.
